The City offers two types of residential trash service to customers, a Cart service and a green bag service. Customers have a variety of volume based levels available to them at a price reflective of the volume level selected by the customer. Commercial customers also have a variety of collection options including 1.5, 3, and 4 yard dumpster service.
Bulky Items, Brush, and Yard Waste Service is available as a special pickup. There is not a charge for yard waste pickup and you do not need to use your green trash bags for this.
Effective March, 2009, your yard waste must be in biodegradable bags (usually labeled "Lawn" or "Yard" bag resembling a large paper grocery bag). These paper lawn bags are available at the local hardware store or Wal-Mart.
After your yard waste is properly bagged, call the Water Department to have it picked up. There is no charge for small piles of brush. If you have limbs, we ask that you leave them long and pile them up with the cut ends all facing the street so the crew can easily feed them into the chipper. Limbs cannot be more than six (6) inches in diameter. The first 15 minutes of the chipper are free. After that, there is a charge of $25 for each additional 15 minutes. A lot can be done in a short time if your branches are organized.
